Charlie and I thank you for your world wide support. I had to decline the new attorney. Help Save Charlie did not agree with the attorney’s schedule of fee’s and we are looking into other resources or possibly responding to the court ourselves.
One of Charlie’s Angels has written in to Help Save Charlie. She recently spoke with Officer Denny, the Hearing Judge with the San Francisco Police Department.
“I decided to call officer Denny myself not expecting to get a return call. He called me back! I appreciated that very much. We spoke for about 25 minutes, kept it respectful. After hearing each one’s point of view, we still in the end disagreed intensely about how we feel regarding Charlie being taken from David.
Denny, just like those against David are so damn focused on how much ($$) David made on Charlie financially!! It is amazing this is what angers them and what they are focused on. I said David did not purposefully set up having his dog taken from him so he could raise money!!
He said Charlie almost killed a horse and soon it is possible he would attack a child, adult or another dog. I said Charlie never hurt anyone before and attacked the horse just like the dog Nettie did who was trained but released with his owner being fined $100.
He became aggravated with my honest comparison and vehemently expressed he did not have an interest in discussing that.
He said he could not see giving Charlie back to David who stood there and watched his dog attack the horse while not doing anything and when he talked to David about it, Denny said, David told him he was afraid to go near the horse because he did not want to get hurt.
I said I don’t blame him, but he did try to call off Charlie just like Nettie’s (a female bull terrier) owner did and who’s owner got KICKED IN THE FACE when she tried to pull Nettie off the horse.
That comparison almost ended the conversation. He did not want to hear it.
Denny did not put any blame, not one ounce of blame on the rangers traveling through an area where dogs are allowed to run free. I said “well it is going to happen again and I feel sorry for the next dog who will be 100% blamed for also being spooked by seeing a horse for the first time like Nettie and Charlie, and has the chance of being removed from the family he/she loves and possibly being held in a dark small cell and eventually maybe even destroyed”
I brought up the report about the injuries on the poor horse and that the large wound appeared to be an old wound aggravated by Charlie, and again officer Denny was going to END the conversation. He did not want to hear it.
Have to get back to work. Will share more later. Please remain respectful to officer Denny if you comment here.

I support what David is trying to do and I want him to get Charlie back so badly…but we all know it’s not going to happen. Once David signed those papers it was over. That officer WAS WRONG AND HE KNEW HE WAS WRONG. Once David took this public they decided it was personal and now he will never know what’s happening with Charlie. I keep praying this will change…I will continue to support you. I have signed the petition, emailed the Mayor, Governor, etc…

David, I still think that at this point your best bet is to contact Congressman John Campbell, who is a real animal lover. He’s from CA and the form requires that you be a CA resident. That’s why they didn’t allow me to send him an email. On Feb. 14 he brought PAWS with their dogs to the Nation’s Capitol to let his fellow congressmen see all the dogs that need good homes. I sent an email but the form doesn’t accept emails from zip codes in other states….,just CA. So he would get your email and he might be willing to help you. Just google him and go to his website and ask his assistance in getting Charlie back. Give him your contact information and see what he says. He certainly has the power to get it done if he’s willing to.
i have horses, and yes it was the wrong thing to do, to take the horse into the dog park, common sense i would have thought. if charlie had never seen a horse before he would have been frightened by this large animal. CHARLIE MUST GO FREE.

Whoever this Len Tillem is doesn’t know or care much about dogs. There is no more loyal animal on earth than a dog, especially to his master, and he should be with his master. This whole matter is simply a travesty. Please just let Charlie go back to his master. It is making a lot of people very sad for Charlie and David.
We live in an urban area, my neighbors have chickens, we brought home a rescue dog that was just fascinated by the chickens. You would often times see me hurdling the fence to retrieve my dog who was exuberantly chasing the chickens. It wasn’t funny–I was sure he would hurt them whether he intended to or not. For months this went on. Finally, he pays no mind to the chickens. He had to get use to this new creature that he had never laid eyes on. I’m sure my dogs reaction would be the same to a horse–their natural instinct is to protect their guardian and themselves.

The guy talking to David obviously has no mind of his own, he just spews the same old crap that others who have no clue do. He is uneducated about this breed & will probably always be because, heaven forbid, he is proven wrong! He obviously has not taken the time to get to know any Pit Bulls. I have a Pit Bull & there is no amount of money I wouldn’t pay in an effort to save him. I am so tired of hearing about the so called riches David has gained from this. I would not care if he made millions! Just give him his beloved Charlie back & quit punishing that poor dog! David, I pray that you get your baby back. Charlie darling, I love you & I am so sorry that my breed can be so stubbornly stupid.

Still beyond belief that Charlie is being targeting! Send this beautiful dog home to his family. If I had been Charlie I would have fought back too for fear of being trompled on. Horses are pretty damned big in comparison to a dog. Poor Charlie.
